The upper west regional deputy minister Hon. Amidu Chinnia visited his maize farm yesterday at his village to see the level of crop growth in this farm and how his farm have been free from crop pets, He visited the farm in the mid hours of yesterday at Nabugubelle where he leaved and schooled in the Sissala East district. This not the first time the deputy minister had to visit his farm in the year, is a regular thing he does more often because of the value he attached to the farm. He has since visited home almost every week end and also to attend to funerals and other social gathering in the district since his progression to the top from the district.
This information about his visit to His farm was spotted on his official Facebook handle on social media, he said and I " This is the beauty for the planting for foods and jobs, I was at my maize farm at Nabugubelle ". He attributed his happiness to His farm base on government's new policy on planting for foods and jobs, is one of the flagship programs the President have brought to help poor farmers in the local and urban areas who could not engage in large scale farming to sustain themselves with. The deputy minister as we speak have had chance to advise the youth to take up farming as a profession since that could be a source of livelihood to some of them, he is a big time farmer and will not stop farming because of where he is now.
So if the deputy minister can travel all the way from the regional capital to visit his farm in his village, what are you sitting there doing? Most people think farming is for poor people, complete misconception from them. Now farming is even for the rich to engage in, so let the youth in the Sissala area take up farming very seriously since is our old thing. It can help raise some revenue for most to start something on their own, let look at the deputy minister and also know that no matter where you are and you are still willing to farm you will farm.
