Redefining effectual leadership focused on serving the welfare of the people A typical case of the Sissala municipality

In his book the Spirit of leadership, Myles Munroe says that a lion leading thousands of Sheep will defeat thousands of Lions led by a sheep. The renowned leadership writer and authority made this point to drive home the point that aligns with what John Maxwell says that leadership is cause and any other thing is an effect.
America is what it is today based on leadership so is Haiti, Germany, Cape Verde to Ghana. The principle of effective leadership is so paramount that it even dictates the welfare of a whole generation to an extend that the food on your table is influenced by the quality of who takes your taxes and makes decisions on your behalf.
It is on the basis of the forgoing that, citizens are enjoined by the constitution in article one that soveirenty lies in the people of Ghana, in whose name and for whose welfare the power of governance is exercised. This power resides in the citizenry who exercise same through universal adult suffrage via the ballot box on basis of a democracy. Whenever this p[oer is given to leaders we often as a people have shirked the responsibility to checkmate our leaders to make them accountable, responsive and sensitive to the mandate given them and the social contract they have signed with the populace.
I am going to narrow my focus to the Sissala area and relate a few issues that are of pressing concern to me as a youth activist. This piece is not by any means a critique of any individual or political party. It does not also intend to blame anyone. What it does is to analyze the system and stretch our imaginations to think deeply on what the status quo is and the way forward. I should also add I do not assume to depict authority over the issues as well. Just stating my mind; period!
Our first challenge I see is human resource. This gap is evident in almost all the sectors of our lives from medicine, engineering, administrators to business. The challenges of human resource I must admit is not only a Sissala issue but predates as far back as the colonial era. However, our Dagaaba neighbours have been able to work around to build a considerable human resource base that is serving their need now.
The real issues of the human resource issue is to fix our basic and second cycle schools and motivate the teachers and classroom instructors. A well motivated teacher a good foundation to address the teaching amd learning needs of his or her students.

The second issue which probably should have been first is to focus on our competitive edge and address the issues around same. What is our competitive advantage? Land and all its related activities. The Sissala areas have abundant fertile lands with great vegetative cover. Until recently where we have experienced rosewood cutting, the forested areas in the land were a good sight. Our competitive edge is agriculture, shea and related marketing in the entire value chain. The Sissala leaders must sit up, take advantage of these potentials, and make a good case for our people in the much-touted 1D1F to be rolled out.
Agriculture and its related activities have been the mainstay of our people since Adam and will be for a long time. Our focus should be how we enhance the local technologies of our people and support it with the modern agronomic practices to enhance production. The socio-economic benefits of agriculture cannot be over emphasized. We need to move into Plantation Agric as well. Cashew, Mango, et cetera.
The destiny of our area squarely lies in the hands of all of us but certainly led by our leaders upon which we have reposed a lot of confidence in.

Let's break the silence surrounding chieftaincy issues in the Sissala area, Minister calls coconutnews

   The issue of chieftaincy is quite a sensitive issue, it is one that many people hardly talk about because of the implications attached to it. It is therefore not surprising that people are quite tight-lipped about chieftaincy issues in the Sissala Area.  Some people believe this attitude will not help the situation since there are always confrontations any time a chief passes on and a new one is to be enskinned. Most communities are always divided on this matter making it difficult for the new chief to begin his work. It is even worse when politician show partisan interest in such circumstances making the situation very difficult to solve, sometimes leading to deaths and gun fights in some communities in the area. But should the situation be left like that? Should the youth do something or sit and watch the situation helplessly without any effort to help reduce the tensions that arise in such situations.

   The deputy regional minister for Upper West region Hon. Amidu Chinnia has weighed into the debate of making chieftaincy institutionalized in the Sissala area to reduce the tensions created by it, he was speaking today at an annual meeting organized by the youth of Tumu to review the activities of the youth in the Sissala East area. He said the era were people shy away from this chieftaincy issues was over and therefore charged the youth to see how they could institutionalized this matter to prevent future confusion. Hon. Chinnia said when this is done, come 20-50 years time their children will know the succession criteria in each area. He said the Sissala Youth Forum and Sissala Union, can sit with the various stakeholders to plan on the gates and how it will move from one gate to the other to discuss these matters. 

   The minister also talked about how the government was dealing with this challenge and how they can help reduce the level of poverty in the Sissala area. He mentioned planting for foods and jobs and other social interventions that the government was prosecuting to better the lives of people in the Sissala area and Ghana as a whole.

FRIDAY PERSONALITY PROFILE: Guess who comes this week?

Some selected and prominent people in society and more especially people within Sissala land who have added their quota to the  development of the land. At least every week coconutnews24 will throw the spotlight on an individual,  the plan is to show case them on Fridays. It will be titled FRIDAY PERSONALITY PROFILE.
This week, we will focus on a young talented political animal in the Sissala land and his bid to fight injustice and bring smiles to the faces of the less previlage in society.
   This personality is well known by most people in the Galibaga area, he is currently the polling station coordinator  for both Bugubelle and Vamboi for the New Patriotic Party in Sissala East. He started his basic school in Bugubelle,completed successfully and proceeded to Kanton Senior High School where he read Visual arts, from there he proceeded to Kumasi Rural development college where he obtained a certificate.
His unrelenting thirst of knowledge took him to university of education where he attained a diploma in education, as we  speak now this personality is currently at university of cape coast reading behavior in change conflict management and other conflict related courses. He also works at Funsi district assembly, his bid to fight injustice is prominent.
  Today coconutnews24 spoke to this personality and he said so many things ranging from social life, political life and other matters of concern to him. He said as it stands now, how political parties are structured in Ghana here, it makes it very difficult to access all people within the party. He said looking at resource allocation in Ghana, national executives have a say, the regional executives too also have a say, constituency executives are not all left out he said. He said the only people cut of are the polling station executives, ironically however, these according to him are the people that  do door to door campaign for the party to come to power but are left out in most cases. He said they are only recognized every four years when elections and voting is due, he stressed that this gap must be bridged between the political party structure and the grassroots.
  coconutnews24 also spoke to him on his political intentions and ambitions, he said he seeks to bridge that gap. He said he can only close that gap when he is elevated from his current position in the polling station to the constituency level. He said based on this, he has the intention to contest a constituency position when nominations are finally open for the constituency level in the district, he said he will bring governance closer to the ordinary voter when he is given the nod as constituency deputy secretary. He said he will need the support of all party members within the district, He said he has shown interest on Facebook and other social media platforms already.
  Speaking about his vision, he said he will close the gap he identified by resourcing all polling station executives to reap the benefits of their sweat. He also said he will work with the party big men to effectively decentralize most resources from the national and regional level to the constituency, he said like the planning for foods and jobs he would have proposed for them to create centers within the constituency where the fertilizer is distributed. He said not only fertilizer but other government social interventions for the masses. He also spoke about always standing by the truth if even it will cost him political fortunes, he mentioned open and transparent leadership for all his followers in all polling stations in the constituency.
  This personality the spotlight is on is no other person but the grass roots man, Mr. Amuda Olantunji. He said he has held various positions from Senior high throughout his life, including Dinning hall prefect at Kansec, Hall president at Rural development college and the current polling station coordinator for both Begubelle and Vanboi.

PAN African Youth Union elections; Ghana's Ahmed Bening for Secretary general i coconutnews24

   The Pan African youth union is an international connection of youth from various African countries across the world, this body existed for over a decade in operations and has connected more and more youths from African countries. Pan African youth union has open nominations for elections and Ghana's Ahmed Bening is going for the secretary general position. Without saying too much things, see what he posted on Facebook as his vision for this body. since his intention to contest the secretary general, he had meet president and other government appointees to support him win. This is his clear vision.

"Goodmorning compatriots ,
This morning I wish to state briefly a few things I intend to do with the the support of H. E the president of the PYU if I'm elected:

1. I intend to open up the funding base of the PYU using solid project proposals that will facilitate  inter governmental and international support. These projects will have a direct impact on all youth councils across Africa. Some of the projects will address specific spatial challenges.

2. I intend to institute an extensive  capacity building and training programme , this project will be coordinated  by the PYU headquarters and tailored to meet the skills and career requirements of cooporate Africa, it will equip young people on entrepreneurship, private sector participation and how to operate business start-ups.
Youth councils will be an integral part of this project.

3. With support of the president , I intend to strategically introduced 6 directorates, these directorates will be filled by skilled youth, the directorates will be properly renumirated to bring out the best in the youthful peofessionals to propel and transform the PYU into a robust machinery that will work in the interest of all African youth

4. I intend to establish the High level consultative platform made up of youth councils, youth civil society organizations, young business executives, young entrepreneurs and other skilled youth that have distinguished themselves on the continent. This high level consultative platform will be chaired by the president of the PYU to provide leadership for long to medium term strategic activities.

5. With the support of the president is shall institute ground rules for the opreationalization of regional offices in the 5 regions of africa. These offices shall have technical directors that will report to the PYU headquarters on a week on week basis on matters of geopolitical and youth development issues

6. In consultation with the president, I shall embark on a robust membership drive. The PYU will institute mechanisms of integration and synchronization of youth organization across Africa. This policy measure is to harmonize youth opreations on the continent. We shall democratize youth activities to be inclusive and harmonized.

7. With the support of the president we shall instituted the youth volunteer corps. This effort will complement the existing AU youth volunteer program and open up opportunities for hundreds of young people across the continent. The high level consultative platform will set the ground rules for execution of this initiative."

Tribute to Thomas Sankara l coconutnews24

Born in 1949, he grew up witnessing leaders from various African countries agitating for independence from their colonial masters.

At age 19, Thomas embraced a new adventure, the military. Whilst serving as an officer, he gained recognition and admiration for his exceptional achievements on battlefield. He was also conscious of the political activities in Burkina Faso thereby taking interest in the affairs of the ordinary citizen.

Devastated by the heightened corruption, lack of basic social amenities, injustice and opulence of the ruling class, Thomas Sankara risked his life to liberate the people of Burkina Faso.

At the age 33, Thomas Sankara became president after toppling the government of the day. Many questioned his ability to deliver at 33.

In the next four years as leader of Burkina Faso, he fought corruption rigorously by adopting a very humble lifestyle different from many African leaders. He increased school enrollment at astronomical levels and dared  the gods of his land by ensuring women were given equal opportunities like their male counterparts. He rescued his people from the dungeons of ignorance, foreign aid and gave meaning to their existence without class discrimination.

Like many liberators, Thomas did not live to witness the fructification of his efforts. His life was shortened by a man whose 27 years can't  compare to a year of Thomas's four years.

As an agitator of total Independence for the African continent, I wish to draw our attention to the legacies of this great Son of ours. In celebrating his life, let us reflect on what he stood for. The best way to honor  a man is to continue and achieve what he wished for his people but couldn't complete his mission.

Jawia the born home of the former road minister who was later made the upper west regional minister is complaining of network problem in their community, you will have to travel to Jawia to see the hell they go through just to call love once or receive calls from friends. Is pathetic in this our 21 century a community like Jawia not very far from the district capital Gwollu and even Tumu still have to position their phones at vantage places to make calls. The community have identity certain areas in the community where they can get network, they place their phones there waiting for calls. You will have to see how a mobile money agent there struggle to do mobile money, is just like hell.
   coconutnews24 picked this information from Facebook on Babini Forgor Luckman's wall, this what he said when he saw the situation in that area. He wrote on his timeline as " This is what the people of Jawia goes through to get phone service to make calls and mobile money transaction. The authorities should please help the people of Jawia to get a service pole. This is how they will put the phones and wait for calls. Good evening." Mr. Babini have also called on the stakeholders responsible for providing mobile network services to try and give the People of Jawia a service pole or increase the coverage of the available network poles to get to Jawia. NGOs and other organizations can help them out.
   coconutnews24 can also confirm that this not the only community in need of network poles, as we speak now Sissala West is one of the Luckiest district in Ghana because they have electricity coverage in almost all the communities under that district, is only three or four communities without light. This are the things that help open up a place for development. We hope to see something positive from there.

A Distress Letter to Sissala East District Assembly l coconutnews24

Dear DCE,
I trust your very person and others in your outfit are doing well!
This seem to be my first letter to you since your assumption into office earlier this year. I am writing to you on an urgent issues that if not attended to,may claim lives in the not too far. Destructively, the same issues have started costing unsuspecting people colossal sums of monies.
The issues have to do with the actions and inaction's of departments under your outfit,the District Assembly, the Tumu township and the District at large has being plagued with life threatening potholes while some developing into manholes and all what the District can do is to sit aloof and spend huge sums of monies on our tipper truck and  Carterpilar all in the name of maintenance.
Reliable information I picked shows that, these two so called assets have never raked in just one thousand Ghana cedes, when even a trip of sand cost almost three hundred Ghana cedes. As for the grader the less talked about it the better. Your people have an anti-development  attitude  of always procuring parts to fix it even when is on road working,to an extent we currently have a spare part procured and lying down when it was not needed.
There are these three deep potholes on the main lorry station to the customs border stretch of road that have been left unattended to for some time now. The last pothole before the border  has been spot for vehicles somersaulting and in the spree of two weeks we have recorded several accidents and as I write now currently lying down there is a heavy truck with goods splashed all over the grounds. Damages cannot be counted.
With all these, the Assembly has a revenue collector 24/7 at the border whose surveillance is more than a camera, taking in revenue for the assembly but it has never occurred to the Assembly to fill those potholes.
Now questions that need answers, who is responsible for filling the potholes? What was the rational  for buying the two assets?who signed them to duties? Annually how much the does the Assembly rake in from the two assets? Should we always wait for the president to visit before we pretend to fill potholes? Is our Assembly manned by reactionary leaders instead of proactive leaders?
The district Assembly has taken us for granted for far too long. It is time we tell them in their faces enough is enough. The are bent on using the two assets to milk the District. Engineers who have penchant for harassing contractors for bribes and facilitating shoddy works.
It is a shame, we get paid for no work done. It is a shame to take revenue from these vehicles and facilitate their accidents. The is totally  irresponsible on the part of the Assembly.
Wake up! Wake up?  It is not two late.

4 YEAR OLD BOY MARK, NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT TO CORRECT BACK DEFECT TO GO TO SCHOOL

This is 4year old Mark Kukultie Ninjo who has been suffering from a condition called kyphosis ( Hunch Back)  for the past 3 years and left at home as resources are not available to seek medical care in Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The family says he started walking until two years ago when he complained of pains from the back,but each time they visited the hospital, they were treated and discharged.
The condition did not improve until he finally gave up walking and has remained in one position to date.Unable to walk nor do anything to help himself.He sits all alone if his friends don't come around from school and plays with the sand.

He finds it difficult to even sit, he sleep on parked pillows but on sideway, but relish going to school and cries each time all the children leave for school everyday,his parents will normally dress him in a school uniform to make him happy but the mother tells me she feels no school will admit him,in view of his state,he has to bend through out the day with the legs behind in one position unless moved by the mother or the father,his penis has developed blisters due to the long hours of sitting,  he cannot be put behind and wrapped due to the pain coming from the hunch .His main structure is almost curved and partially deformed.Mark friends come around him only week ends,and even that he cannot follow them to wherever they play to,he shouts to play with them.

The parents of young mark, Kwaku Ninjon met me yesterday and told me they have been  advised to tell RadfordFM about their situation  so we can tell their story to the world.'We have moved from hospital to hospital within and Upper west region and his situation is worst, yet no way forward for them,and I have sold everything I have and waiting on God".Kwaku told us. Finally, Dr.  Charles Wood, medical director for Sissala East disrict hospital has finally referred them to the KATH,Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital,Kumasi,but due to financial problem,it appears little Mark would be left at home as the father ,a farmer has no resources again to take him to KATH where he is told he would require up to Twenty to Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis for the condition to be corrected.
On Sunday afternoon after visiting Mark and his parents,  the father appealed to the general public for support.The mother told RadfordFM Marks' situation makes it difficult for her to do anything for herself and the family as she must be around to move him from one position to the other or clean when he soils himself.
Just when we visited them sunday afternoon,we heard the MP for Sissala West was in town,so RadfordFM led the parents to meet Hon.Patrick Adamah. He instantly promised Five Thousand Ghana Cedis and asked us to appeal to others to support.He asked the Parents to let him know the Doctor to be assigned to take care of Mark.He appealed to Sissala East MP,Wa East MP to also support Mark who told me he wants to go to school.

I looked like a "Johnny just come " before an ATM machine l coconutnews24

    We all travel to places to see things or for official assignments, some even travel just to visit friends or family members. In most of this travels, people tend to encounter themselves with the new environment they have gone to meet, Not because they have not  traveled before but because they have gone to meet a totally different society. Some will even go to the extend of losing their way, A similar thing happened to me just some few days back in one town in Ghana. I nearly became a laughing stock before something in one of our big institution.
    I visited one town in Ghana to visit my relatives, friends and also to carryout some official assignments. In one of those days during my visit, I got short of money, so I had to pick a Taxi to one of the nearest banks just to take some money. I got to one bank called GT Bank, I was not their customer nor do did I have an account there but my fortunate aspect was that, they operate an ATM machine. This their ATM machine I was lucky because it accepted Visa card from other banks, so I inserted my card into the  machine. This was where I became a "Jonny just come" before this ATM machine.
    When I inserted the card, in my location when you insert a card you wait for some minutes to access it but theirs was different. Because in my location when your card is accepted by the machine, the ATM request for your pin number, not knowing this GT Bank ATM was different from my usual bank. In their case it was not requesting for my pin number but for me to select a language, so I also stood there waiting for this ATM to ask me for my pin. I stood there for more than minutes and this ATM will not ask me for my pin, so I became helpless at that time. I was looking left and right to see weather I was doing the wrong thing or what, because someone may thing i wanted to do something bad before the machine. Do you know what happened when I stood there for those minutes without the ATM machine asking for my pin? If not that experience, I never knew an ATM machine could request for something apart from a pin number first.
    It took the services of a second party who was then the security man at post, he had to approach me to see what I was doing before this ATM machine for all that long. When he came he saw the machine asking for a Language and I was standing, so he directed me to select the language. There was English and other two languages, he further guided me to select my purpose and finally withdrew the money from the bank. You see, I am a professionally trained teacher but yet I took the services of a " common " security man ( I don't even know his level of education) to guide me perform my service. Who knows, I may had stand there for long hours or even put my self into trouble for staying long with the device.
Lessons we all need to learn from this trip
1) We should know that, in this world no body knows everything on this earth. That's why you cannot be rich and poor at the same time or good or bad at the same time, you will be one at time.
2) We should also know that, you can be a teacher today and be a student tomorrow due to the situation. Like what happened to me, I became a student before the ATM machine and the security man the teacher.
3) We should show love to who ever we meet, because the one you will pass by today will rescue you from something some day some where. In my situation I first greeted the security man before I went to the ATM machine.
4) We should be ready to learn from others, because God have created us all different. So what you know I may not know it and the vise Verser. If I thought I was more than the security man, can you imagine what would have happened to me?
5) This  also shows that, learning is a continues thing not a one day job. ( a process not an event)
   This my personal experience, a real life situation not a fiction. I hope you have learned something from it too, it can be of help to you one day.

Sierra Leone mudslide claim over 400 lives and over 600 people mission l coconutnews24

    Sierra Leone is in the news again for all the unfortunate reasons, latest information coming from this country suggest that over 400 people have allegedly lost their lives and even more frightening is the number of people who have been reported mission in Sierra Leone at the capital town called free town, a mudslide occurred in the countries capital town free town.  Other properties worth thousands of United State dollars have also been reported destroyed or either misplaced from the reports coming from the towns news papers.
    The issue of Sierra Leone being affected by a natural disaster is not the first time,  just some few years back during the year 2014 this same country was affected with this Ebola endemic disease which took several lives over there, they have always had one problem or the other since years back in history. Newly installed Zini kuoro visited the deputy upper west regional minister in his office l coconutnews24

  The 33 year old accountant who was recently installed by the Buwa traditional council as the Paramount chief for Zini traditional council paid a courtesy call on the deputy Upper West regional minister at his office in Wa, the meeting was held in the late hours of yesterday. Kuoro Diyaka Ninia was with his secretary and Fachu kuoro and other elders, it was a private visit by the chief to the deputy minister's  office just to officially introduce himself to the ministries and other departments in the office of the regional ministries.
   This information came to coconutnews24 through the official Facebook wall of the deputy regional minister's office, after the successful meeting with the chief and His elders, the deputy upper west regional minister Hon. Amidu Chinnia posted a picture with the traditional council on Facebook. The minister said they had a fruitful discussions together, the details for the meeting was however not stated on the post on Facebook. This not the first time a chief have visited the deputy regional minister in his office, they have always visited him since his assumption as the deputy minister for the Upper West region.
    Kuoro Diyaka Ninia was recently outdoored in a colourful ceremony last week at Zini, his outdoorment saw representatives from the national and regional house of chiefs. He worked in the private sector for many years serving as chief accountant for Plan Ghana at Tamale, the vacancy have been there for close to seven years since the former chief diet in 2010 before he took up the position.

DIYAKA SUKABE NINIA’ V ‘OUTDOORED PARAMOUNT CHIEF OF ZINI TRADITIONAL AREA l coconutnews24

A 33 year old Accountant of Plan Ghana an international NGO Tamale branch, Kouro Diyaka Sukabe Ninia V is now the paramount chief of the Zini traditional area and president of the Buwaa traditional council after he was outdoored to take the reins of  the Zini skin on the 11 of August, 2017 at a colourful ceremony at Zini.
Privately known as Sumani Sunkuso Diyaka Abu has been working for the past eleven years. He takes over from the late Doctawie Ninia the 4th, his uncle, who passed to eternity in 2010. For the past seven years, the traditional area has been without a substantive paramount chief for which he has promised to mobilize for develpoment.The area has four divisional chiefs with over nineteen communities all under the paramountcy.
During the outdooring ceremony, he was urged by the upper west regional house of chiefs registrar Mr. Baabina John who represented the president of the upper west regional house of chiefs “to unite his people towards development of the traditional area as they expressed gratitude for such a peaceful process it took to come out with a chief for Zini traditional area, a seat which was vacant and assured to offer necessary cooperation”. Kouro Diyaka Sukabe Ninia was encouraged to follow due process to be gazetted in other to gain recognition from the government of Ghana.
Kouro Diyaka Sukabe Ninia was tasked by the Gwollu Kuoro’s representative, Bulu Kuoro to be a responsible leader who is able to exercise patience no matter the situation he is confronted with. ‘’Should be firm and just in decision making. Meanwhile, members of the Zini community were admonished to support the chief and heed to his calls for development.

In a speech delivered by Kouro Diyaka Sukabe Ninia V, he recalled the historical reinforcement of peace and unity which the Zini skinship and its people enjoy through the instrumental role played by the first chief,Ninia. He assured to accept the responsibility and role to solve challenges the Buwaa area faces and outlined that poor BECE results, bad road network and land disputes are some of the challenges that needs to be addressed. “My role as a leader will not only be the pageantry we see most often as exhibited by leadership, but down to the grassroots where I can participate holistically without any challenges, we will come together as a people, we will prioritize our actions as a people, we will solve them as a people and celebrate them as a people,” he expressed.
The ceremony was attended by chiefs from other parts of the region, district, friends and well-wishers.

Upper West regional chapter of Activista fully launched - Youth challenged to fight Tax justice l coconutnews24

    A one day workshop was organized in Wa in the Upper West Region by the regional Youth Authority in collaboration with Action aid Ghana yesterday to mark  international youth day and to launch Upper West regional chapter of Activista; a global connection of youth working to fight tax justice in society. The day saw participants from almost all districts in the Upper west region, people came from; Tumu, Jirapa, lawra, Lambusie and Wa,  Participants were taken through the significance of the international youth day and how the youth can benefit from this special day. The youth were tasked to stand up and show leadership in the various districts they came from.
    Mr. Tontie of Action Aid represented the organization at the celebration and the launch. In launching the upper west regional chapter of Activista, he challenged the leadership for Activista; Rasheed from Tumu, Lambert from Jirapa,   Adalyne from Wa to hold regular meeting after the launch to  create more awareness about the role of Activista. After Activista was fully launched, participants were made to speak about how the body can take up the issue of Tax justice. coconutnews24 spoke to one of the organizers of the program, Mr. Rasheed Salifu from Tumu who said the purpose of forming Activista in the Upper west region was to help in the national fight against Tax justice in Ghana, they think that if the issue of Tax justice is taken up seriously it can help the government to generate more revenue. Once more revenue is generated, the government will have more space to bring more development to the nation.

    Another participant in the workshop, Madam Florence said the workshop was very helpful to her but also added that next time if something like this was to be organized in the region they should reach out to more people within the region.

Activista Ghana for Upper Weat regional chapter launched in Wa - Youth challenge to fight Tax justice l coconutnews24

    A one day workshop was organized by the regional youth authority in collaboration with Action aid yesterday to mark international day celebration and to launch the the Upper West regional chapter of Activista; a global connection of youth to fight a injustice in society. The day saw participants from almost all district in the Upper west region, people came from; Tumu, Jirapa, lawra, Lambusie and Was town itself. Participants were taking through the significance of international youth day and how the youth can benefit from this special day set aside, the youth was tasked to stand up and show leadership in the various districts they came from.
    Mr. Tontie of Action Aid was also present for this celebration and the launch. LACHODONGO WOMEN GROUP AT DIMAJAN ASKED FOR SUPPORT TO GROW.

Lachodongo group is a group of women which was formed in two years ago with membership of 5 and has expanded to 18 members now.The aim of this women is to fight poverty and to improve upon the lives of women and children.q SOURCE OF INCOME:through communal labour farming, picking of shea nut, sowing and harvesting of people farm produce for  tokens . They intend to buy n sell maize, Shea nut, groundnuts and also to under take groundnuts farming.
Today marks two years anniversary of this group. NGO'S, Individuals, government should support this group to achieve dreams.
Long live Lachodongo and long live Ghana.
