ASUDEV /ACTIONAID GHANA ORGANIZED A TWO DAY TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS IN CREATIVE ART

    A two day training workshop was organized for some selected creative art teachers in the Sissala east district by ASUDEV with support from ACTIONAID on how they can build the capacities of this selected creative art teachers for the district, the workshop went on well and the facilitators and the participants were all happy of the training given to them. This schools selected for the workshop cut across the whole Sissala east with participants from town and nearby villages who came for the training, two creative art teachers were selected from each school selected for the training. The two teachers made up of male and female creative art teachers from the selected schools.
    The participants were taken through house keeping issues, how to teach Design, lettering, drawing, colour theory and print making in the basic level, so this creative art teachers were equipped with the skills and techniques to help guide them to better teach the subject with much ease and and confidence. Mr. Issah Suleman and Mr. Marifa Abdul-Aziz were teachers at Kanton senior high school who took the participants through the whole training workshop for all the two days, now this creative art teachers can better teacher this particular subject most teachers runaway from teaching because of the technical nature of the subject and more especially that, the creative art text books contained little content to help guide the teacher.
    At the end of the two day training workshop, the executive director for ASUDEV, Mr. Osman Kanton took the participants through the whole exercise and assisted them to draw an action plan on how they were going to impact what they have learned from the workshop to their colleague teachers and the pupils they were teaching in their various schools. From the plan, they were tasked to organise an inset training workshop for their co-teachers in the various schools and also to organise special sessions for the pupils. The district training officer at GES, Mr. Charles Natuo also used the opportunity to thank all the teachers and tasked them to impact what they have learned.
    Some participants spoke to coconutnews24 after the training workshop and indicated how they had benefited from the workshop and also how the knowledge will help them better teacher their pupils. Mr. Karim Dirinaa, Mr. Prosper and Madam Awal Suraya spoke to coconutnews24 on their experience.
